PRINCIPLE ACTION – TREATMENT OF SCARS WITH COMPRESSION 

Made of long and medium stretch elastic fabrics. The principle also contributes to a reorganisation of collagen fibers in a plane parallel to the skin, thus limiting uncontrolled scarring of the conjunction tissue by reducing hypervascularisation and reorganisation of fibroblasts. Its high stretch capacity makes the garments easy to put on and remove. In addition, it helps freedom of movement and offers a good level of adaptation to variations in circumferences. They are a treatment method in the management of major burns and help limiting recourse to reconstructive surgery. However, the benefits are not limited to burn healing, they can also be used in the treatment of other conditions such as lymphology or Ehlers-Danlos syndrome. Compression garments should be used as healing permits.

INDICATIONS – BURNS

• Reduction and stabilisation of lymphoedema
• Primary lymphoedema in children
• Slows down blood irrigation, reducing hypervascularisation that causes hypertrophy, oedema, pruritis and fibroblasts.
• Care of lymph oedemas in special cases

INDICATIONS – POST-OPERATIVE, PLASTIC AND RECONSTRUCTIVE SURGERY

• Post-op treatment of traumatic and surgical scars
• Patients with second-degree burns or worse are exposed to the risk of hypertrophic scarring, which can degenerate into keloids
• Prevention and treatment of of hypertrophic scars, keloids and scar retractions
• Reduces the risk of local inflammation
• For the stabilisation of surgical results
