ABOUT THE SLING
The BrownGuard 100 arm sling Type 02 is part of the BlackGuard Black Orthopaedic Solutions luxury range. It is made of breathable materials that are non-irritating and latex-free. The sling is adjustable thanks to the hook-and-loop fasteners.
MEASURING GUIDE
The size can be determined by measuring the area indicated in the diagram: the height in cm.
HOW THE SLING WORKS
The mechanism of action of this unique arm sling is based on fixing the upper limb in an ideal position without the need to suspend it around the neck area, thus achieving the necessary therapeutic effect. The sling holds the shoulder joint, elbow joint, and wrist of the affected arm in a pocket that provides support in an ideal, natural position, preventing damage to the muscles and joints of the upper limb. The use of elastic means the shoulder area is not overloaded. The wide fabric also helps to ensure that that the sling sits well on the shoulder and arm, and does not slip.
APPLICATION
Place the sling on the affected upper limb, first at the elbow, with the colour marking facing forward. Then run the elastic part of the sling across the back and over the opposite shoulder, place the wrist of the affected arm in the “pouch” and adjust the length of the sling with the hook-and-loop fastener so that the wrist is in the desired position. When putting on the sling, it should not come into contact with sharp objects (such as jewellery) or long nails. If using body cosmetics, wait at least 15 minutes after applying before putting on the sling. In case of visible mechanical damage, do not continue to use the sling and, ideally, replace it with a new one.
